How to become involved as a volunteer

Would you like to get involved as a volunteer but don't know where to start?  You've come to the right place.

  • The first thing you need to think about is how much time realistically you can spare?
  • You then need to think about what it is you would like to do.
  • You and the branch can then together work out how the time you can spare matches up with what you would like to do.

Please get in touch if you want a no-obligation chat about how you can help local animals in need.

Volunteer Opportunities

Do you want to be more active and have a say on how the Branch is run?  If so why not consider becoming a Trustee.

The Trustees meet every month for around 2 hours to discuss issues and make decisions for the branch. Please contact with your contact details for an initial chat.
In order to become a Trustee:

  • You will need to become a member of the RSPCA for 3 months (Annual Membership £24.00).
  • Then be voted as a Trustee at the AGM or be co-opted by the Trustees already in place.

Shop Volunteer

Do you want to be out and about during the day to meet new people?  If so why not consider volunteering in one of our four charity shops.

In order to work in the Shop:

  • You will need to be reasonably good with maths and be able to provide two references. Hours can be negotiated to suit you.
  • Read about the volunteer role within our shop

If you are interested in becoming a shop volunteer, please contact Pat our shop operations manager on 01733 203363
